So nah wie er, mit so viel persönlichem Engagement und wirklicher Anteilnahme am Leben im „unbekannten Osten“ haben wohl nicht viele „Wessis“ die spannenden ersten Jahre nach der Wende inmitten der engsten persönlichsten Ebenen der kommunalen Verwaltung miterlebt und mitformen können.

Und so habe ich ihn überredet, mir seine „gesammelten Werke“ (Zeitungsartikel, Beschlüsse und andere Dokumente) zu überlassen und mir zu vertrauen, aus all dem ein Buch zusammenzustellen. Herausgekommen ist weit mehr als ein privates Schriftstück. Es ist auch ein historisches Zeitdokument aus der Zeit des „Buschgeldes“ und der Sicht eines Wessi-Verwaltungsbeamten, der seine persönlichen Erlebnisse in einer turbulenten Zeit in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern schildert.

Ich bedanke mich bei meinem Vater für sein Vertrauen, mir diese sehr persönlichen Zeilen überlassen zu haben, damit ich aus den Aufzeichnungen dieses Buch zusammenstellen durfte. Es sind Zeilen, die ganz sicher nicht nur spannende persönliche Einblicke in die Zeiten nach der Wiedervereinigung bieten, sondern historisch bedeutende Momente in sehr privater und sympathischer Weise aufbereiten.
